Tiny walking dragon by BronzeHalo Tiny walking dragon by BronzeHalo

It's been a rather... low... time again lately, so here was a tiny fun challenge to entertain myself.
Last year I made a walking dragon animation, and then shrunk it into a 50-pixel base.
I'll release the base later (gotta add some more wing-shape options), but for now, here's an example.
Thought it would be nice to include a bigger view, so you can see how much detail these icons have...

It's this dude. Couldn't fit his white markings in the small space, but I hope it kinda resembles him still.

Drawn in Photoshop. 10 frames, 6 colours.  Please don't use this art in any way.

Very nice, hope you don't mind that I use this as a example for what I'd want artists for a game I'm making to aim for, about, x3

This is so cute! I love the head sway :meow:
I have a silly question, and I've looked online and can't seem to find an answer..
How do you make a pixel animation/image larger like this without making it all blurry?
I can't seem to figure it out =\
Do you just redraw it on a larger scale? Like build each bigger pixel here with little ones?
There has to be an easier way..

I don't know how to quickly re-scale pixels without blurriness. There is probably a way, but I haven't looked for it yet. xD

For this animation, I had to zoom in 400% (or whatever it was) in Photoshop, take screenshots of each frame and paste them into MS Paint, then cut and paste the big dragons back into a new Photoshop file.

It's tolerable for short things like this, but for much longer animations, uh... better seek another method. ^^'

Ah okay. I asked one more person yesterday and I found a way!
I used to do the same thing you're talking about but I tried this
and it works really well and it's 1000x less work lol

they said "What I do in Photoshop is to make sure to increase the
size by a good multiple (like I think this one is 4x bigger)
and when you're in the Image Size screen make sure to
change the dropdown at the bottom to "Nearest Neighbor"
it preserves hard edges and seems to work perfectly with pixel art."

I didn't ask intending to give a new answer but maybe this'll help you too!

Aha! Tried that and it does work perfectly. Thanks. :aww: Now I'll use that in the future.

I think it resembles him pretty well!  At least, I could immediately tell that it was that character before actually clicking on the deviation.

I'm always amazed by how seamless the movements are in your pixel works.
