The main, exciting thing: there's a chance I can study at college after all! Whooo!
A 1-year diploma in Horse Care, with reduced fees because of my situation. Perfection! Working with them has been madly-fun already, and to have a better chance to follow it into an actual job or career... *swoon*
But first I need to pass the interviews (less than 2 weeks away now, eek!), and the big worry is my lack of knowledge so far. You have to be able to show that you have "sufficient experience with horses"... whatever exactly they mean by that? .__.
So, I've been busy doing a load of voluntary horsey-work lately, thanks to some lovely local owners. It's very tiring, though maybe that's just me - health and strength are another problem I really need to work on too. After a day of cleaning and hauling and running round, I get home and fall straight asleep until the next day. No time for drawing or anything else, those nights!
They (the college) also strongly suggest that students are able to ride, too... hmm. Well, crap. xD Have saved up some money to pay for a few lessons before September, if it'll really be needed. But still, the course can be studied without riding, so I hope they'll give me a chance to do that.
Anyway, after the interview and whatever practical skill/knowledge tests they have, I'll have more time to relax and be online, active here. At the moment, it's a crazy rush of learning all sorts of horsey things... tails, hooves, tools, feeding, lungeing... ahhh!
If there are any horse owners or riders around here, who wouldn't mind talking with me about their day-to-day horsey activities, that'd be great. What may seem mundane to you could be very helpful to me. xD Any funny stories or anecdotes, accidents or warnings about managing horses... feel free to ramble on and on at me about them.
So, about those icons...
I need some pixel practice, basically. Have barely touched the style for ages! So, I'm offering to do custom colourings / edits of these bases. For some more examples:
Might even add small amounts of animation (such as blinking, glowing markings) if you want.
Please leave a comment under this journal, with links to reference sheets, or other images I can follow. No limit (yet), so go ahead and even ask for 10 icons if you want. Might also be useful if you specify which pose(s), from 1 to 14.
They can be completely free, but if you want to draw a tiny something in return (like any of these?), I won't complain. xD But I do mean a tiny something! Please, nothing too grand. These icons are only just 50x50 pixels' worth of "gifts", not full-blown masterpieces that you must repay me for.
Update: finished icons so far are here! I'll be adding more tomorrow, need to sleep now.
... that's all for now, I guess. Start rambling on about your horses, or requesting icons! I'll try and be around here for the next few days, to keep up with things. Unless a horse kills me or something, lol.
Thanks for your patience and support so far, guys!
